The emotional mystery film 'Paran', starring Lee Soo-hyuk and Ha Yoon-kyung, will be released in April.

On the 18th, distributor Merry Christmas Co., Ltd. confirmed the April release of 'Paran' and unveiled the first poster featuring striking imagery.

The film depicts an unexpected journey of two people who, due to their families' sins, could not die: the son of the perpetrator and the daughter of the victim, who genuinely want to live.

Lee Soo-hyuk, praised for his outstanding character portrayal and presence through various works including the drama 'Queen Woo' and the film 'Pipeline', takes on the role of Tae-hwa, a clay shooting athlete suffering from the pain of receiving a transplant from his criminal father, showcasing a wide range of emotions once again. Ha Yoon-kyung, who has demonstrated her solid acting skills in films like 'About My Daughter' and the drama 'Gangnam B-Side', plays Mi-ji, a victim living with hidden wounds while engaging in criminal activities.

Notably, 'Paran' is the first Korean film to address moral dilemmas surrounding the concept of hereditary guilt through the lens of clay shooting, posing profound questions about human psychology, such as "What if you received an organ transplant from a criminal?" The film's blend of emotion and mystery, along with its hidden twists, sparks curiosity.

Invited to the Korean Cinema section of the 24th Jeonju International Film Festival, it has garnered acclaim for its unique approach to psychological tension and the guilt and pain experienced by those around criminals, attracting the largest audience at the festival.

Directed and written by Kang Dong-in, who won the Jury Special Award at the 21st Beijing Film Academy Film Festival and the Gold Award for Group at the 20th Korea Youth Film Festival with the short film 'Good Time'.

The title 'Paran' carries the meaning of a significant event that shakes the lives of the two characters (波瀾) and symbolizes hope for a new beginning as they overcome adversity (破卵) to forge their destinies.

Scheduled for release in April.
