"I don't read comments. It's for my own sake."
(Following Interview①) Recently, Song Hye-kyo has shown a sincere attitude towards promotion, breaking her mystique. When asked about her change in mindset, she said, "I think it's naturally changing with the times. I want to get closer."
During an interview for 'The Black Nuns' (directed by Kwon Hyuk-jae) held at a café in Samcheong-dong on the morning of the 21st, she shared, "Honestly, I initially appeared on variety shows because of the project. I wanted to promote our film in line with the trends. Of course, I was worried and felt pressured about whether people would like it."
She continued, "Fortunately, the response to my appearance on 'You Quiz' was good, and I heard there were many supporters. Thanks to Kang Min-kyung and Jung Jae-hyung, it was made comfortably and beautifully. I think my courage has grown, allowing me to show myself as I am. Now, I want to approach younger friends more familiarly."
She added, "I didn't pursue mystique. I think it was the culture and atmosphere of the entertainment industry in the past. Now that the times have changed, I want to adapt accordingly. As I get older, I feel a bit more relaxed, and there’s a new kind of fun," she said with a smile.
Regarding the buzz created by singing Uhm Jung-hwa's song on YouTube, she said, "I ended up singing it due to Min-kyung's persuasion, and I'm glad that she liked it. It's a continuous series of new experiences."
When asked if there were any impressive comments, she honestly replied, "I don't read comments. It's been a long time. I haven't read them for my own sake."
She expressed, "If only good news always came out, it wouldn't be burdensome, but there are times when it’s not, and there are various issues, so I can't be completely at ease. I hope to meet the public with good things without any troubles, and I want to show many new faces through various works."
Additionally, she stated, "Being without troubles is the best," and added, "These days, I am most at ease while being faithful to my main job. I am spending a comfortable daily life without major worries or difficulties. I am very grateful and happy."
Regarding the title 'Tae-Hye-Ji,' representing the three beauties of Korea, she said, "When I was younger, I just liked it. I was happy to be with such great actors. I’m still grateful to be called that, and I hope a new generation of juniors emerges," she replied with a smile.
The film is a sequel to 'The Priests' (directed by Jang Jae-hyun), which opened a new chapter in Korean occult films, depicting the story of people who embark on a forbidden ritual to save a boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit. It portrays the noble spirit of sacrifice of the lowest-ranking nuns in the Catholic Church, who strive to save the boy even if no one acknowledges their efforts. It blends the deep 'woman's romance' of Song Hye-kyo and Jeon Yeo-bin with 'occult' themes.
The film will be released on the 24th and is currently ranked first in overall ticket reservations.
