The era of animation is beginning again. The fantasy animation epic 'The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim', which continues the universe of the 'The Lord of the Rings' series, is set to hit theaters in January.
According to the distributor Warner Bros. Korea on the 8th, 'The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim' has confirmed its release date for January 28 and unveiled the main poster.
As a prequel to the 'The Lord of the Rings' series, 'The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim' tells the fateful story of the legendary battle between Helm, the great king of Rohan known as the Iron Fist, and the strong princess Hera, against the invasion of Dunland, set 200 years before the War of the Ring. It depicts the legendary heroes and king Helm, prince Haleth, and Hama, as well as the great war against Wolf, who led the Dunlendings and the Rohan dynasty, against the backdrop of the Helm's Deep battle from 'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers'.
Most importantly, Peter Jackson, who wrote and directed the 'The Lord of the Rings' series, is producing, while Kenji Kamiyama, known for 'Ghost in the Shell', is directing. This is a collaboration of two global giants. Additionally, Philippa Boyens, who co-wrote the original series with Peter Jackson, has joined in on the story and production, enhancing the film's quality.
The main poster released on this day features the strong princess Hera at its center, showing her father Helm and the proud Rohirrim cavalry standing firm against the approaching enemy, raising expectations for the massive battle to come.
Additionally, the overwhelming presence of Wolf, the son of the lord of Westmark who instigated the war and became the lord of Dunland, exudes an aura that does not fall short of Rohan's strength, sparking curiosity about who will ultimately be the victor of the war.
Furthermore, the tagline "History Becomes Legend" hints at the backstory of the Hornburg and Helm's Deep from the 'The Lord of the Rings' series, as well as new, previously unknown stories of the Rohan dynasty, promising to guide audiences once again into a grand and thrilling universe.
Releasing on January 28.
