Japanese actress Tomoko Takahashi has suddenly passed away due to a traffic accident.
On the 18th, her agency One Production announced on their official website that Tomoko Takahashi had died in a traffic accident in the early hours of the 16th.
The agency stated, “It is such a sudden event that we still cannot believe it. It is hard to accept.”
They added, “Tomoko Takahashi was a founding member of our company and had been actively working with great passion. She was responsible and warm-hearted, loved by many, and we sincerely thank her for the legacy she has left behind.”
Tomoko Takahashi was hit by a car while riding her bicycle around 2:45 AM on the 16th in Nerima Ward, Tokyo.
The police arrested a 38-year-old suspect on charges of violating the Automobile Driving Punishment Law (negligent homicide) and the Road Traffic Act (hit-and-run).
According to the police, the suspect stated, “I was driving drowsily. I hit something, but I didn’t think it was a person.”
Tomoko Takahashi, who was found lying on the ground, was discovered by a passing pedestrian but was already reported dead.
Born in 1986 and hailing from Hokkaido, Tomoko Takahashi gained recognition for her roles in dramas such as ‘Emergency Interrogation Room’ and ‘Last Doctor’.
