Singer and actor Yang Dong-geun expressed extreme emotions, saying he had nightmares.
On the 13th, Yang Dong-geun wrote on his account, “I’ve been suffering from nightmares for the past few days and woke up at 4 AM,” adding, “My reasoning is asleep, and my defenseless brain is only focused on angry thoughts, no matter how much I pray, the anger rises to the point where my body shakes.”
He continued, “With only two hours of sleep, I put on my workout clothes and started running. It felt like my burning heart knew it, and suddenly it started pouring rain, so I ended up running in the rain.”
He added, “When anger rises, try running,” explaining that “it stabilizes the mind and brings peace.”
Previously, Yang Dong-geun was embroiled in a political bias controversy related to ‘supporting martial law.’ He came under scrutiny when it was revealed that he attended an event hosted by Pastor Son Hyun-bo, who has been advocating against impeachment and supporting former President Yoon Suk-yeol's emergency martial law in August.
Yang Dong-geun's agency, Jo Entertainment, clarified at the time, stating, “He attended as a religious figure, unrelated to any political intent,” and added, “He has no close ties with Pastor Son Hyun-bo and did not express any political stance.”
However, Yang Dong-geun once again found himself at the center of controversy after posting a message targeting critical opinions on his account. He shared a photo with profanity written on his forehead and cheeks, along with the caption, “Guys, feel free to be disappointed and curse as much as you want. I believed in you, and I’m OO.” After facing intense criticism, he eventually deleted the post.
Yang Dong-geun debuted in 1987 with the KBS drama ‘Topri’ and rose to stardom with his unique charm while appearing in various genres of works. He has also made a name for himself as a first-generation hip-hop artist, releasing songs like ‘Alleyway’ and ‘Guri Bang Bang.’
He will meet global audiences in the upcoming Disney+ original drama ‘Sculpture City,’ set to be released in November.
