Economic YouTuber Shuka (Jeon Seok-jae, 46) confirmed that an image used during his broadcast was manipulated to mock the late former President Roh Moo-hyun and apologized.
On the 29th, Shuka released a video titled ‘$350 billion, is cash payment possible?’ on his YouTube channel ‘Shuka World’.
In the comments of the video, Shuka stated, “There was an unfortunate incident where a maliciously manipulated image was broadcast during this week’s live show.”
He added, “The image was cleverly manipulated, and neither the primary review by the research team nor my secondary review process detected any issues. I apologize for the inconvenience caused by this.”
Shuka mentioned, “In the future, I will have dedicated staff for review to establish a three-step review system and will ensure more thorough checks,” and added, “As a gesture of apology, I will donate 30 million won to the Korean Red Cross’s campaign to help descendants of independence activists.”
On the 28th, while discussing the repeated withdrawals of the U.S. from international organizations, he displayed the WHO (World Health Organization) logo on the screen.
However, it was pointed out that the logo used in the broadcast was not the official logo but a modified image used by the far-right community ‘Ilgan Best’ (Ilbe), leading to controversy.
The problematic logo features a human figure instead of the world map contained in the WHO logo. It is known to be used by Ilbe to belittle the late former President Roh Moo-hyun.
Following the controversy, Shuka deleted the video.

In July, Shuka was also criticized for using a map that labeled ‘East Sea’ as ‘Sea of Japan’ in his materials.
At that time, Shuka acknowledged his mistake, stating, “This mistake is something I cannot accept myself, and I sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people,” adding, “The East Sea is the East Sea, and Dokdo is undoubtedly our territory.”
He also expressed his intention to donate 30 million won to the Korean Red Cross’s ‘Helping Descendants of Independence Activists’ as a gesture of apology.
Meanwhile, Shuka is a YouTuber who produces economic-related content and has 3.61 million subscribers.
