Broadcasters Park Na-rae, Moon Se-yoon, and Kim Dae-ho are on a quest to find the 'No. 1' regional specialties.
MBC's Chuseok special program 'National No. 1' is the first domestic 'Specialty Champions League' format program where regions across the country compete for honor with the same specialty, and the first showdown features Korea's representative beef, Hanwoo.
Hanwoo from various regions will compete on stage, and after being tasted by a panel of 100 evaluators and expert food critics, a single 'National No. 1' will be determined through on-site voting. Beyond a simple cooking competition, the program will also highlight the lives and stories of the farmers who raise Hanwoo, delivering both laughter and emotion.
The teaser video released on the 25th showcased a fierce competition. Moon Se-yoon, holding a spoon and with his eyes closed, expressed his amazement at this "magnificent experience," reflecting on his 10-year food broadcasting career, while Kim Dae-ho, after tasting the Hanwoo, exclaimed, "A new world I've never tasted before," revealing his surprise. Immediately after tasting, Park Na-rae opened her eyes wide and remarked, "There’s a reason it has to be No. 1," conveying both the tension and allure of the Hanwoo competition.
The playful rivalry among the three MCs also caught attention. Kim Dae-ho jokingly asked the evaluators who were enthusiastic about Hanwoo from other regions, "Have you perhaps lost your sense of taste?" while Moon Se-yoon humorously told Park Na-rae, "Get out of the way, I'm not feeling good," eliciting laughter. The scene where the evaluators simultaneously pressed their buttons created an atmosphere of suspense, and the final phrase, "An unprecedented competition unfolds," heightened anticipation for the broadcast.
Additionally, the poster released alongside the teaser features a large map of the Korean Peninsula against a background reminiscent of traditional folding screens, revealing the concept of a 'competition staged across the entire Republic of Korea.' The combination of the three MCs is also generating excitement.
