Actor Hong Seong-won has apologized for his remarks made during the musical 'Burn the Witch' performance.

On the 22nd, Hong Seong-won posted a statement on his Instagram account saying, "I sincerely apologize for the discomfort caused by my inappropriate expression during the pre-show of the musical 'Burn the Witch' on Saturday, September 20th at 8 PM."

He added, "I take the responsibility of disappointing the audience and my colleagues very seriously, and I will be more careful with my words and actions in the future."

The controversy arose as reviews surfaced on online communities and social media, stating that Hong Seong-won said during the pre-show of 'Burn the Witch', "There is a saying that when the hen crows, the house is ruined, and I was asked to play the role of the hen."

Hong Seong-won appeared as Kim Tae-hee, a future colleague, in the tvN drama 'Unknown Seoul', which ended in June.
