Actress Kim Mi-kyung named Jang Na-ra and Kim Tae-hee as her beloved daughters among the many children she has met in numerous works.
On the 24th, Kim Mi-kyung, Jang So-yeon, Lee El, and Im Soo-hyang appeared as guests on MBC’s ‘Radio Star’.
On that day, Kim Mi-kyung shared that she has met over 100 children in various works, saying, “My first mother role was as Ryu Seung-beom's mother. There was a 16-year age difference, so I thought, ‘Isn’t that a bit strange?’ but I took on the role after the director's persuasion. Since then, I have been flooded with mother roles that I can hardly believe.”
Kim Mi-kyung mentioned that there were not many roles as a mother to sons, referencing actors such as Seo In-guk, Byun Yo-han, Lee Kwang-soo, Kim Dae-myung, Yoo Seung-ho, and Um Ki-joon as her on-screen sons.
When asked if there were any daughters she felt particularly affectionate towards, Kim Mi-kyung replied, “After filming ends, everyone tends to scatter. It’s hard to see them again, but there are friends who call me at least once after it’s over. Beyond that, there are friends who still interact with me like a real mother and daughter. They are Jang Na-ra and Kim Tae-hee.”
She continued, “In fact, they are about the age of my daughter. So, I find them cute, just like my daughter. It must not be easy for them to approach someone much older, but they came to me first, which I find very lovely.”
She also mentioned, “I lost my mother last year. I didn’t even send out a notice, but an article was published. After seeing the article, almost all the daughters I worked with came to pay their respects.”
Meanwhile, ‘Radio Star’ airs every Wednesday at 10:30 PM.
