The recent update of singer Kim Gun-mo, who is resuming activities after 6 years, has been revealed.
On the 18th, pianist Yang Tae-kyung announced on SNS, "I met Kim Gun-mo while going to the rehearsal room for a band performance."
He continued, "In another practice room, Kim Gun-mo's concert rehearsal was taking place. At the moment I went up to the first floor during break time, I ran into him," adding, "I greeted him with 'Hello' and a 90-degree bow, and he said, 'Oh? Tae-kyung, uncle?' and asked for a handshake. He mentioned that he was watching my YouTube channel well."
Yang Tae-kyung referred to their past connection during Kim Gun-mo's 'Open Music Concert' stage, saying, "He once covered up my mistake with a song. He was a really cool and gentle senior," and added, "Back then, he called me 'Tae-kyung,' but it seems he doesn't remember me after so long. I actually think it's a relief."
He also said, "Although he had a tough time for a while, he overcame it well and is finally breaking his hiatus to hold a concert. Since he is a musical genius, he will definitely deliver an amazing performance. I have always respected and supported him. His smiling face is so wonderful."
Kim Gun-mo was accused of sexually assaulting a female employee at an entertainment establishment in Gangnam, Seoul, in 2019, which led to his departure from the programs he was appearing in and a halt in his activities.
The Gangnam Police in Seoul forwarded the case to prosecution with a recommendation for indictment in March 2020, but the prosecution decided not to indict him in November 2021.
After 6 years of controversy, Kim Gun-mo announced his return on the 26th of last month. According to the concert production company, Istar Media Company, Kim Gun-mo will hold the '2025~206 Kim Gun-mo Live Tour' starting in Busan on September 27, followed by Daegu on October 18, and Daejeon on December 20.
This tour is expected to expand to major cities across the country, including Seoul, in January next year. The resumption of performances carries the meaning of expressing gratitude and apologies directly to fans, responding to their long wait.
