Dancer Monica shared the story of how she transferred custody of her dog to her ex-boyfriend.
On the 10th, Monica appeared as a guest alongside singer Harisu on the web content ‘Sister Party’ of the YouTube channel ‘This is the Real Final’.
Monica, who appeared on tvN STORY’s ‘Lonely Trainer’ in 2023, drew attention by revealing her reunion with the dog she had raised with her ex-boyfriend after three years.
Monica stated that she gave up custody of the two dogs during the process of breaking up with her long-term boyfriend. She recalled, “We fought a lot over custody. He said he couldn’t give them up because he had grown attached to them,” adding, “We fought a lot on the street, crying and demanding each other to give them up immediately.”
After three years, when Monica met the dogs again, she broke down in tears seeing that they still remembered her.
Regarding her feelings at the time, she explained, “Samantha is a dog that means a lot to me, so I was very attached. My ex-boyfriend was also very attached to Samantha. He said he would take care of her, and he did a great job.”
Finally giving up custody of the dog, Monica said, “My ex-boyfriend’s house was by the beach. Samantha loved to smell the sand and play freely by the beach, so I gave her up for that reason,” adding, “I missed her so much, and it was shocking to realize that this dog remembered me, which made me cry a lot.”
Regarding custody disputes that arise from breaking up with a partner, she advised, “Realistically, it seems more advantageous for the one who can provide a better living environment to take custody,” and added, “If I were to give a tip, the one who does better will have more to say later.”
Recently, after giving birth to a daughter, Monica sent her dogs ‘Sanhai’ and ‘Chakhae’ to her in-laws for childcare. She expressed her longing for her dogs, saying, “The problem was that ‘Chakhae’ had a biting issue. I still don’t know the baby’s temperament or allergies, so I had to be cautious. After a long discussion, we decided to be apart for about 6-7 months.”
Monica, who gained recognition through Mnet’s dance survival show ‘Street Woman Fighter’, continues to meet fans through various content, including dance entertainment programs.
At the end of last year, she drew attention by announcing her marriage and pregnancy simultaneously.
