The shocking details of the Daejeon Lily Coffee Shop murder case and the Seoul Songpa dismemberment murder case have been revealed.

On the night of the 14th, T-Cast E Channel aired ‘Brave Detectives 4,’ showcasing the vivid investigation diaries of detectives who sought the real culprit with minimal evidence.

First, Kim Yeon-soo, the head of the Daejeon Central Police Station's Criminal Investigation Division, explained the Lily Coffee Shop murder case that occurred in Daejeon in 2007. When he received an urgent 112 emergency call and arrived at the scene, two coffee shop employees had already been attacked.

The coffee shop owner was found with a knife presumed to belong to the assailant, having been stabbed in the abdomen and suffering from a hernia, while a woman inside the restroom had her throat cut with a weapon, and her stockings and underwear were completely torn, raising suspicions of murder and sexual assault.

A clear fingerprint was discovered on the restroom door where the victim was found dead, quickly leading to the first suspect, Mr. Oh. However, the investigation took a different turn when blood-stained tissues and a jacket with DNA from an additional suspect were found.

At that time, they received a notification from the National Forensic Service stating, “The first suspect, Mr. Oh, and the second suspect share the same surname (Oh).” The National Forensic Service explained, “When comparing the DNA of Mr. Oh and the assailant, it was found that they share the same paternal lineage Y chromosome.” Profiler Kwon Il-yong added, “If Mr. Oh's DNA had not been present from the beginning, this would have been impossible.”

The detectives, still skeptical, narrowed down the remaining list to find the culprit. The perpetrator was a 35-year-old man who committed a brutal crime 18 years ago and was released two years ago after serving his sentence. He had raped and murdered two grandmothers at the age of 17 and was sentenced to 15 years for assaulting and murdering a 6-year-old child and burying the body. The monster returned, even more terrifying, just two years after his release and was sentenced to life imprisonment.

The following segment from the Scientific Investigation Team (KCSI) revisited the Songpa dismemberment murder case, which began with a phone call from a man in his 60s. The caller stated, “A friend living in this house has not been in contact for five days, so I came to check, and I found a dismembered leg on the balcony.”

Upon arrival, the forensic team confirmed that the dismembered leg belonged to a woman in her 50s who lived in the multi-family house where the incident occurred, and the crime took place on-site.

The investigation team, after interviewing neighbors, learned that there had been loud fighting sounds coming from the victim's house a few days prior, and they initially placed the caller, who was the victim's only close acquaintance, on the suspect list.

However, during questioning, the caller revealed a crucial detail: “When I called the victim five days ago, her phone was definitely off, but at some point, it was on, and I heard the ringing tone.”

The investigation team suspected that the perpetrator might have the victim's mobile phone, so they urgently requested the call logs to find the last person the victim had contacted. The last person she spoke to just before the incident was the owner of a café. The victim was in the process of taking over the café, and the contract would be finalized once the remaining payment was made.

The investigation team speculated that the murder occurred between the night and early morning when the café's final payment was withdrawn, and they arrested a key suspect, a taxi driver in his mid-50s, based on a decisive statement from the café owner.

Despite the overwhelming evidence against him, the perpetrator shamelessly denied, saying, “I didn’t even know she was dead. I don’t even know where her house is,” but he was sentenced to 20 years for murder and body concealment.
