The momentum of ‘Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’ has been fierce, having claimed the box office throne upon its release.

According to the integrated computer network of the Korean Film Council on the 1st, the film ‘Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’ (directed by Haruo Sotozaki) attracted 285,020 viewers the previous day, securing the top spot at the box office. The cumulative audience count stands at 3,154,070.

Released on the 22nd, ‘Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’ continues the story from the TV anime ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train Arc’ aired last year in Japan, depicting the first chapter of the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and elite demons in the Mugen realm, the home of the blood demons. It has surpassed 3 million viewers in the shortest time this year, breaking the record of its predecessor, ‘Demon Slayer: Mugen Train,’ which attracted 2.22 million viewers.

In second place is the long-running film ‘Zombie Daughter’ (directed by Pil Gam-seong). On the same day, about 78,000 people watched it, bringing its cumulative audience count to over 5.34 million.

Released on the 30th of last month, ‘Zombie Daughter’ is a comedic drama about a father who undergoes secret training to protect his daughter, who has become the last remaining zombie in the world. Actors Jo Jung-seok, Choi Yu-ri, Lee Jung-eun, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Jo Yeo-jeong star in the film.

In third place is the film ‘F1: The Movie’ starring Brad Pitt (directed by Joseph Kosinski), which attracted over 58,000 viewers, bringing its cumulative audience count to 4.76 million.

As of 8 AM on that day, the real-time reservation rate was led by ‘Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’ with a reservation rate of 49.0% and approximately 135,000 reservations. Following it were ‘Murder Report’ and ‘Face’.
