Idol couple HyunA and Yong Jun-hyung have come under fire for posting photos from their trip to Paris, which included street smoking, leading to an 'illegal' controversy.
On the 24th, HyunA shared photos taken during their European trip with her husband Yong Jun-hyung on her Instagram.
While the freshness and happiness of the newlywed couple were conveyed, a photo of Yong Jun-hyung smoking in the middle of a street in Paris sparked controversy.
This is due to the announcement made by Catherine Bottern, the French Minister of Health and Family, that as of July 1, smoking is prohibited in places frequently visited by children, such as beaches, parks, outside schools, bus stops, and sports stadiums.
Violating this regulation could result in a fine of 135 euros (approximately 210,000 won).
Outdoor spaces such as café and bar terraces are excluded from the smoking ban, and electronic cigarettes are also not included in the prohibition.

It has not been confirmed whether Yong Jun-hyung actually lit a cigarette or whether the street was a non-smoking area, but netizens have expressed various opinions, stating, “I don’t understand smoking in the middle of the street and then taking a photo of it,” “It seems illegal since it’s an outdoor place,” “It’s uncomfortable to see whether it’s illegal or not,” and “If it’s not illegal, does it matter?”
Meanwhile, HyunA and Yong Jun-hyung tied the knot in October last year. Both have received much love after debuting as solo artists following their activities in 4Minute and Beast, respectively.
