The court has accepted the KakaoTalk conversation materials, which are the key issue in the damages lawsuit between former CEO Min Hee-jin of Adore and Source Music, as evidence.
On the morning of the 22nd, the 12th Civil Division of the Seoul Western District Court held the third hearing of the 500 million won damages lawsuit filed by Source Music against former CEO Min Hee-jin of Adore.
On this day, the court stated regarding the KakaoTalk materials, which were the key issue in the second hearing, that "it is difficult to consider this as a violation of the Communications Privacy Protection Act" and "after considering various circumstances, we judge that it has evidentiary value and accept it as evidence."
However, the court mentioned, "I don't feel that this case needs to be presented in a public PT, so we will not hold a PT," but added, "Since public trials are the principle, we will conduct a public hearing through oral arguments."
Last year, Source Music filed a lawsuit against former CEO Min Hee-jin for damages amounting to 500 million won due to defamation, obstruction of business, and insult.
Source Music raised issues regarding claims that former CEO Min directly cast members of New Jeans and that Source Music neglected the members of New Jeans.
During the second hearing held in May, Source Music submitted a presentation material of about 20 minutes containing former CEO Min's KakaoTalk messages. However, the side of former CEO Min rebutted that it was "illegally collected evidence without prior consent," leading to the continuation of the trial.
With the KakaoTalk materials of former CEO Min being accepted as evidence, attention is focused on how this evidence will be utilized in the trial.
Meanwhile, the next hearing is scheduled for November 7.
