Actress Choi Jung-yoon revealed that her ex-husband and daughter are doing well together.
In the 10th anniversary special of tvN STORY's ‘Accidentally an Adult’ aired on the 19th, veteran divorce judge Jeong Hyun-sook, who has 21 years of experience, appeared.
Judge Jeong Hyun-sook from the Daegu Family Court Gyeongju branch stated, “There are cases where the primary custodian among divorced couples protests vehemently in court, and this is precisely due to visitation rights,” adding, “It is the right of the non-custodial parent to regularly meet or contact the child.”
She continued, “It is not only the parent's right but also the child's right. No matter how much of a primary custodian a parent is, they cannot arbitrarily prevent the non-custodial parent from seeing the child,” and explained, “The family court does not just make rulings; it also provides training when visitation is not being conducted properly.”
She added, “The family court operates a two-day, one-night visitation camp for non-custodial parents and children to facilitate smooth visitation. Parents and children spend a night together to improve their relationship,” stating, “This is a state-supported program that incurs no personal costs. This shows how much the country values visitation rights.”
Judge Jeong asked Choi Jung-yoon, who was seated in the audience, “You are raising your child alone after the divorce; does the child meet the father often?”
To this, Choi Jung-yoon replied, “Legally, it is set for twice a month, but we adjust the schedule flexibly based on the child's condition and situation, so they meet well.”
Choi Jung-yoon married Yoon Tae-jun, son of former E-Land Vice Chairman Park Sung-kyung and a member of the group Eagle Five, and gave birth to a daughter. After their divorce in October 2022, Choi Jung-yoon is currently raising their daughter.
