Actor Goo Seong-hwan revealed that he received a building from his father.

On the 12th, in a video released on his YouTube channel 'Flower Bun (with Goo Seong-hwan)', he opened up by saying, "It's been about three days since the broadcast aired, and many people have been questioning me through Instagram DMs and YouTube comments. They asked why I was doing the epoxy on the roof instead of the landlord, and why I was doing the wallpaper instead of the landlord."

He continued, "Every time the show airs, there are endless controversies about the landlord, the building owner, and how many buildings I own, so I want to clarify this in this video, which will be the first and last time. The part of the building I am in is indeed my father's. I received the gift in 2020, 2021, or 2022. Of course, I paid all the gift tax at that time. I found it quite awkward to talk about my past and personal life on the show, so I glossed over it, but I didn't expect it to blow up like this."

Goo Seong-hwan stated, "I have never pretended to be poor on any show, including 'You Quiz on the Block.' The actual area is 18 pyeong, and if you include the outside, it's about 20 pyeong. That's a fact. The most ridiculous thing is that I have never pretended to be poor on any show. Why would I pretend to be poor? I enjoy my life, eat well, and have fun while filming, and I have never pretended to be poor."

He added, "Because of this controversy, many people are asking in the comments why I pretended otherwise, but I didn't pretend. I just thought there was no need to talk about it. But as the discussions kept growing, I felt I needed to address it today."

Additionally, Goo Seong-hwan emphasized, "My father is a national merit recipient, and he has been receiving gamma treatment for his brain. He suddenly developed dementia as a side effect of the treatment. So, the fact is that my father gifted me this property."

He stated, "It is a fact that he gifted me a multi-family building. Therefore, I have to manage the roof, and since my father's health is not good, that's all there is to it. I have nothing more to say. My father worked his whole life to earn money and turned our family home into a villa when I was born. People talk about everything, but I won't say more than this. I hope you understand it this way."

Furthermore, he said, "My misunderstanding has grown due to the vague parts in the past, and I apologize for that. However, it wasn't intentional; discussing my personal life feels a bit awkward. It's just that I didn't talk about money, so please don't misunderstand. Please stop talking about the landlord. I pay my rent to my father regularly on the first of every month. That's a fact. The gift was received in advance because my father is not well, and I am paying the rent regularly."

Previously, on the 8th, Goo Seong-hwan confessed to water damage due to heavy rain on the MBC variety show 'I Live Alone.' He shared a story about being scammed during a past leak repair and showed himself checking the leak on the roof and doing waterproofing work and wallpapering in the master bedroom.
