Chinese action star Jet Li (Li Lianjie) recently shared news of his hospitalization.
According to reports from local Chinese media such as Zhonghua Network, on the 16th, Jet Li posted a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed on his social media accounts like Weibo and Douyin, stating, "I recently went through an unexpected ordeal."
As fans expressed their concerns over his frail appearance, he shared a scene of being transported on a mobile hospital bed, jokingly adding, "There was a problem with the hardware, so I went to the factory for repairs."
A friend of Jet Li told local media, "It's just a small malignant tumor," and added, "He will be fine after the surgery."
After being discharged, he posted a photo of himself eating knife-cut noodles with the message, "I have come out of the factory. Thank you for your concern," and "I am enjoying delicious food. I wish everyone health and happiness."
Jet Li was previously diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and had paused his activities due to injuries to his spine and legs sustained during action film shoots. This led to ongoing rumors online about his death.
Meanwhile, he recently announced his return after finishing filming the martial arts film "The Legend of the Dragon," his first in 14 years. This project is directed by Yuen Woo-ping, who directed "Drunken Master" and choreographed martial arts for "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "Kill Bill," and features Hong Kong actor Donnie Yen.
Born in Beijing, China, Jet Li has changed his nationality twice, first to the United States in 1997 and then to Singapore in 2009.
He debuted in 1982 with the film "Shaolin Temple," gaining popularity across Asia through the series of the same name, and later established himself as a leading action star in the Chinese-speaking world with films like "Once Upon a Time in China," "The East is Red," "Fong Sai-yuk," and "Hero."
