On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of liberation, stars paid tribute to the spirits of the fallen soldiers in various ways, expressing their gratitude and condolences.

First, Jo Jin-woong took the stage at the Liberation Day ceremony held at the Sejong Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and read the pledge of allegiance to the national flag. He was selected as the reader due to his participation as a 'national special envoy' when the remains of independence activist General Hong Beom-do were returned to Korea in 2021.

Jo Jin-woong declared, "I pledge my loyalty for the eternal glory of a free and just Republic of Korea in front of the proud Taegeukgi," shouting energetically and contributing to the event.

He is currently engaging with audiences through the narration of the documentary film 'Independence Army: The Unfinished War,' which depicts the life of General Hong Beom-do, released on the 13th.

Lee Seung-gi announced that he has been recognized as a distinguished family for military service. Since 2004, the government has designated families where all male direct descendants from the first to the third generation have faithfully completed military service as a sign of respect for their patriotism. It is not easy to be selected as all male members, including grandfathers, must serve in the military.

The certificate that Lee Seung-gi revealed included the names of three generations, from his grandfather to himself, who have all faithfully fulfilled their military service, drawing attention.

Song Hye-kyo donated 10,000 copies of a guidebook to the Korean Cultural Center in Mexico, co-authored with Professor Seo Kyung-deok of Sungshin Women's University, to promote the history of Korean independence movements among Koreans in Mexico and abroad.

The guidebook, produced in Korean and Spanish, includes information about the Korean National Association's Mexico City branch, the residences of independence activists Kim Ik-joo and Hwang Bo-young, Dolores Cemetery, and Ahn Chang-ho's lodging in Guadalajara.

For the past 14 years, Song Hye-kyo has been donating Korean guidebooks, Korean signs, and relief sculptures of independence activists to historical sites of Korea remaining overseas.

Comedians Kim Jun-ho and Kim Ji-min, who got married last month, meaningfully spent their first Liberation Day after marriage. The couple visited the National Cemetery to pay their respects to the spirits of the fallen soldiers.

Kim Ji-min also posted on social media, "I express deep gratitude and condolences for the sacrifices of the spirits of the fallen soldiers. Long live Korean independence!"

Meanwhile, overseas star Kim Kardashian shared a photo of the Taegeukgi (Korean national flag) raised on the street on social media, eliciting cheerful reactions.

Currently reported to be in Korea for business, Kim Kardashian posted a photo of the Taegeukgi on social media without any comment, and netizens reacted with comments like "Of course, 'Kim,'" "Which Kim are you talking about?", "Is she really from the Kimhae Kim clan?", "I thought she was Korean," and "Kim Kardashian is also a Kim."
