The musical 'Aladdin' has surpassed 300 performances just 9 months after its Korean premiere.

The Korean premiere of 'Aladdin' opened on November 17 last year at the Charlotte Theater and concluded its Seoul performances with 260 shows on June 22. The final city, Busan, achieved 300 performances in a single season on the 13th, about a month after the opening at Dream Theater on July 11.

The 37 main cast members of the Korean premiere have been leading all performances from Seoul to Busan, with main cast members Jeong Yeol, Seo Man-seok, and Yuk Hyun-wook sharing their thoughts.

Jeong Yeol, who plays Iago, expressed, “My top priority was to ‘consistently perform all shows,’ and although there were some dizzying moments, I feel proud to be getting closer to that goal.”

Seo Man-seok, who plays Kassim, said, “On the first day of rehearsal, I was so excited that my heart felt like it would burst, and I still can’t believe we’ve reached 300 performances. It feels like I’m still dreaming. Every performance from 1 to 300 has been exhilarating, and I believe this happy show can go on for 3000 performances.”

Yuk Hyun-wook, who plays Omar, also shared, “In my 26 years of doing musicals, this is my first time reaching 300 performances for a single show. I’m happy to have that first experience with 'Aladdin.' I have many emotional and touching memories, and I want to encourage my colleagues to enjoy the remaining performances.”

The records for 100 and 150 performances by the actors playing Aladdin, Genie, Jasmine, Sultan, Jafar, and Babkak are being set daily, adding to the joy. The show continues to be a box office success, filling seats in Seoul for 7 months. Following sold-out performances at the end of the year, it ranked first in musical box office success for the first half of 2025 according to the Integrated Performing Arts Computer Network KOPIS. The Busan performances are also currently ranked among the top 10 regional performances in ticket sales.

The Busan performances are particularly engaging audiences with localized elements such as the Busan dialect and famous spots like Exit 1 of Busan Station and Sajik Stadium. Currently, about 40% of ticket buyers at Dream Theater are from other regions.

The cast includes top actors such as Kim Junsu, Seo Kyung-soo, Park Kang-hyun as 'Aladdin', Jung Sung-hwa, Jung Won-young, Kang Hong-seok as 'Genie', Lee Seong-kyung, Min Kyung-ah, Choi Ji-hye as 'Jasmine', Lee Sang-jun, Hwang Man-ik as 'Sultan', Yoon Seon-yong, Lim Byeol as 'Jafar', Jeong Yeol as 'Iago', Seo Man-seok as 'Kassim', Yuk Hyun-wook as 'Omar', Bang Bo-yong, Yang Byeong-cheol as 'Babkak', and more, totaling 37 top actors performing at Dream Theater.

With about 6 weeks left until the final performance on September 28, the show has entered its final season.
