BTS member Jungkook's cover of ‘Soda Pop’ has received high praise, being rated ‘11 out of 10’.
Andrew Choi recently appeared on the Singaporean media ‘The Straits Times’ and mentioned Jungkook's cover of ‘Soda Pop’.
Andrew Choi is a producer and songwriter from SM Entertainment, known for his participation in the SBS audition show ‘K-Pop Star’. He was responsible for the singing of ‘Soda Pop’ by the Lion Boys leader Jinwoo in the Netflix animated film ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’.
He stated about Jungkook, “What I like most is that he sings so naturally and well,” adding, “It’s proof that he is a true vocalist. Jungkook’s performance is 11 out of 10.”
When asked, “Who is your ideal Lion Boys member?” he replied, “My number one pick is definitely Jungkook. I mean it. He is truly perfect.”
Andrew Choi also mentioned that he was unaware of a lyric error in ‘Soda Pop’ until Jungkook pointed it out, saying, “I didn’t notice it at all. It seems like no one noticed until Jungkook heard it and discovered it. I’m thankful to Jungkook.”
Previously, Jungkook conducted a personal live broadcast on the 14th of last month, sharing his thoughts after watching ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’.
During that time, Jungkook performed ‘Soda Pop’, sung by the Lion Boys in the show, live, garnering enthusiastic responses.
Additionally, Jungkook showed an emotional reaction during a scene in the ending of ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ where the protagonist Jinwoo sacrifices himself to protect Lumi, saying, “You fool, we should fight together. If we block together, our strength will double. If you’ve given your soul, we should both think about living hard,” while wiping away tears.
In response, Netflix posted on their official X (formerly Twitter) account, “Jungkook watched ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’.”
Jungkook enlisted in the army as an active duty soldier in December 2023 and was discharged on June 11. The group BTS, to which Jungkook belongs, has begun working on an album with the goal of a full group comeback in the spring of next year.
