IU is currently filming the MBC Friday-Saturday drama '21st Century Great Lady' (written by Yoo Ah-in, directed by Park Jun-hwa) with Byun Woo-seok.
'21st Century Great Lady' is set in a constitutional monarchy in 21st century South Korea. It depicts the romance between a woman, Seong Hee-joo (played by IU), who is frustrated as she is a commoner despite being a wealthy heiress, and a man, Lee An-dae-gun (played by Byun Woo-seok), who is the king's son but can possess nothing, leading to a sad love story. It is scheduled to air in 2026.
