Broadcaster Lee Ji-hye has documented excessive malicious comments.
On the 6th, Lee Ji-hye posted on Instagram, “I am neither leftist nor rightist. I have no political color. Please refrain from such harsh words,” along with a photo.
The photo contained a DM (direct message) sent to Lee Ji-hye by an internet user.
The message included statements like, “XXX, were you a leftist? I used to enjoy your content, but I’m unsubscribing immediately,” and “Your kids will grow up stupid and ugly just like you,” “If you’re a leftist, why does your sister live in the U.S.? You should go to China. You’re a leftist but want to send your kids to the U.S.? Your thoughts are contradictory,” and “I thought your husband was smart, but I guess not. Go to China and work there, you anti-communist XXX.”
Internet users commented, “File civil and criminal lawsuits without leniency,” “Economic compensation is the answer,” “You need to show that words and actions have consequences,” and “You must never show leniency,” advising legal action.
