In the latest episode of ‘Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 2’, Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube visited Jinju and had a delightful conversation about love with Jeon Hyun-moo's close friend, Lim Soo-hyang, completing a food trip filled with eating and enjoyment.
In the 41st episode of MBN·Channel S ‘Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 2’ aired on the 8th, Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin) embarked on a food trip to ‘kill it’ at special restaurants that can only be found in Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do, with their ‘food friend’ Lim Soo-hyang. They savored not only the ‘Jinju cold noodles’, which are a symbol of Jinju, but also visited a red bean shaved ice shop as part of the ‘Lim Soo-hyang Plan’ and a local food specialty restaurant with a ‘110-year tradition’, leading viewers into a world of culinary delights.
During their visit to Jinju, Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube chose the uniquely delicious ‘Jinju cold noodles’ for their first meal, which was so special that the broth was even stolen. At the cold noodle restaurant, the two tried various unique cold noodles in order, including ‘Soo-jo water cold noodles’, ‘Nonggae bibim cold noodles’, and cold noodles named after the owner, enjoying the summer. They described the water cold noodles as “a taste I’ve never had before” and “a new and puzzling flavor,” while they danced with joy after tasting the bibim cold noodles, bringing smiles to everyone. After finishing their refreshing meal, they welcomed their ‘food friend’ Lim Soo-hyang, who brought out ‘Jinju spicy pepper kimbap’ she had personally bought for them, and the three sat on a park bench to engage in an unintended ‘spicy challenge’.
Lim Soo-hyang mentioned, “My mom’s friend is from Jinju. They recommended a red bean shaved ice place,” leading the two ‘food brothers’ there. Shortly after, upon arriving at the shaved ice shop, Lim Soo-hyang introduced it by saying, “Welcome to the ‘Lim Soo-hyang Plan’. This place opened in 1947.” Kwak Tube reacted genuinely, saying it looked like a house from ‘Black Rubber Shoes’ due to its nostalgic appearance. They were served ‘Jinju steamed buns’ topped with red bean porridge, and after tasting it, Jeon Hyun-moo exclaimed, “This is so precious. If it were sold in Apgujeong, I would line up for it,” giving it a thumbs up. Lim Soo-hyang praised the red bean shaved ice, which contained only red beans and ice, saying, “The combination is so good.”
The three also ‘killed it’ with the uniquely flavored ‘Jinju honey bread’ and headed to a local food specialty restaurant where they could meet the ‘top three bibimbap’ in Korea. There, they ordered bibimbap, bulgogi, and meat pancakes. When the makgeolli was served, Lim Soo-hyang tied her hair up, and Jeon Hyun-moo pointed out, “This is a serious battle stance,” showcasing their chemistry.
With delicious food, the conversation flourished. Lim Soo-hyang recalled a story where she introduced a stewardess to Jeon Hyun-moo, saying, “(Hyun-moo) oppa was so busy back then that he came to the blind date when he had a gap in his schedule.” She continued, “At that time, (Hyun-moo) oppa was so tired that he dropped off his date and parked the car in front of her house and slept in the car,” revealing an unimaginable behind-the-scenes story. Jeon Hyun-moo responded, “I was always like that on blind dates. I once went on a blind date with a musical actress, and I was so tired and sleepy that I asked, ‘Can I sleep for just 20 minutes?’” Lim Soo-hyang shot back, “That’s really awful,” knocking him out with her directness.
Jeon Hyun-moo cautiously asked Lim Soo-hyang, “I want to confirm something. They say you’re the representative ‘love at first sight’ in the entertainment industry…” To this, Lim Soo-hyang replied, “I did say that in a variety show before. Back then, I looked at a guy’s appearance and body. I liked sexy people. But now, it’s a bit different; I focus more on personality.”
Upon hearing Lim Soo-hyang’s specific ideal type statement, Jeon Hyun-moo teased, “So are you taking a break from dating now? Reveal it here~” However, Lim Soo-hyang countered, “If I had a boyfriend, I would reveal it on my YouTube channel, you know?” creating a ‘great party’ atmosphere. Seeing the two bickering, Kwak Tube chimed in, “If you’re going to get views on (YouTube), revealing your boyfriend while Hyun-moo hyung is there is also an idea,” sharing the know-how of a ‘2.11 million subscriber YouTuber’ and causing a stir on set.
