Actor Kim Ji-hoon confessed about the difficult hiatus he went through in the past.
On the 6th, a video titled "Younger actor Kim Ji-hoon came to consult Kim Jung-nan about his worries" was posted on the YouTube channel 'Kim Jung-nan'.
On that day, Kim Ji-hoon revealed, "The image from weekend dramas was too strong," and added, "I wanted to do more movies and dramas, and I thought I could do well, but no one else thought so."
He continued, "Since I only received such offers, I ended up taking a break for about 3 years," explaining the situation that led to his hiatus.
He said, "The company kept saying they would look for opportunities because I kept talking to them, but I kept waiting and faced repeated disappointments," and recalled, "In the end, I exploded once, saying, 'This is really a high-potential drama. Let's wait a bit,' but one day I saw an article saying someone else was cast in that drama."
Regarding his feelings at that time, Kim Ji-hoon explained, "I couldn't handle it; it blew my top off."
Talking about the difficulties he faced during his hiatus, he said, "The money I had saved is now all gone, and the biggest problem is the lack of hope about when and how things will change," adding, "I felt a lot during that time. My body was constantly in pain. For the first time in my life, I experienced headaches so severe that even touching my head hurt."
Kim Ji-hoon, who played games during those tough times, said, "It acted like my antidepressant." Kim Jung-nan asked, "Isn't it hard to date during such tough times?" and Kim Ji-hoon honestly replied, "I did date," which brought laughter.
Kim Jung-nan comforted him, saying, "When you look back after some time, you'll think you followed a very normal course. Such time is essential for an actor. That's how you improved your acting."
Meanwhile, having overcome his hiatus, Kim Ji-hoon is set to appear in the Netflix variety show 'Crime Scene Zero', the drama 'Everything Will Be Achieved', and tvN's 'Annoying Love'.
