The 'MZ Wannabe Icon' IVE is set to participate in the '2025 Coupang Play Series'.
According to Coupang Play, IVE will showcase the opening ceremony and a halftime performance at the first match of the '2025 Coupang Play Series' held at Suwon World Cup Stadium at 8 PM on the 30th.
IVE expressed through their agency Starship Entertainment, "We are very honored and excited just to be part of such a meaningful match," and added, "We will do our best to deliver good energy to the fans and players present, so we ask for your interest and anticipation."
The 'Coupang Play Series' is a friendly match featuring world-renowned football clubs and K League stars. With K-pop artists participating in halftime performances, it has garnered significant attention from global sports and music fans every year.
In the first match where IVE will participate with the opening ceremony and halftime show, 'Team K League', representing the K League, will face off against Newcastle United, the winner of the 2024/25 Carabao Cup (League Cup). IVE is expected to create a special synergy between football and K-pop by engaging with the audience through performances of their hit songs during the opening ceremony and halftime.
Since their debut in 2021, IVE has established itself as a leading K-pop group, producing numerous mega hits such as 'LOVE DIVE', 'After LIKE', 'I AM', and 'Kitsch'.
In particular, they gained the title of 'emerging K-Pop festival performance powerhouse' after appearing at global music festivals like 'Lollapalooza Chicago' and 'SUMMER SONIC 2024' last year, and have further solidified their position as a global artist by performing consecutively at 'Lollapalooza Berlin' and 'Lollapalooza Paris' recently.
They are also maintaining their hot popularity domestically. With the release of their third mini-album 'IVE EMPATHY' in February, they achieved five consecutive million-seller records, and their pre-released track 'REBEL HEART' recorded a 'perfect all-kill' on major domestic music charts, proving their strong music power.
Additionally, with the title track 'ATTITUDE', they swept the music broadcast first place trophies, achieving a total of 15 music broadcast wins (11 wins for 'REBEL HEART' and 4 wins for 'ATTITUDE').
Recently, IVE confirmed their comeback at the end of August and is ramping up preparations. With another special stage anticipated at the '2025 Coupang Play Series' on the 30th, expectations are high for how they will heat up the atmosphere with their performance.
