'King of Kings' is a film that depicts a journey into the greatest story of 2,000 years ago, featuring the outstanding British author Charles Dickens and his youngest son, Walter.
Charles Dickens decides to tell the story of the true king, 'Jesus', to his mischievous youngest son Walter, who admires King Arthur. Captivated by his father's vivid storytelling, Walter becomes increasingly drawn to Jesus as he witnesses His miraculous deeds and endless love up close. However, the happy moments are short-lived, as Walter realizes the heartfelt truth hidden in his father's story through the trials that befall 'Jesus' and His calm acceptance of them.
Released in North America last April, the film has generated $63 million in box office revenue, achieving the highest box office performance for a Korean film in history.
With Korea's technological prowess bringing the stories of love and miracles from the Bible to life, there is growing interest in whether it can captivate both global and domestic audiences. Lee Byung-hun, Jin Seon-kyu, Lee Ha-nee, Yang Dong-geun, and Cha In-pyo participated in voice acting.
The film was released in theaters nationwide today (16th). It is rated for all audiences.
