Actor Han Ji-il (77, real name Han Jeong-hwan) has revealed his recent struggles with depression symptoms.
On the 10th, Han Ji-il mentioned his recent poor condition on his personal SNS, stating, "Depression is truly a terrifying illness."
Han Ji-il said, "I don't know why I suddenly felt this way after returning from Jeju Island. I even turned off my phone. Everything felt bothersome," and added, "I canceled all my plans for two weeks and just stayed at home."
He continued, "It felt like not even 24 hours had passed. I wondered when I had ever experienced depression," revealing the seriousness of his recent state.
Han Ji-il expressed his gratitude to a friend who came to visit him, saying, "Thank you to everyone who has worried about me."
In the photos shared, Han Ji-il is seen looking at the camera with a bright smile alongside a friend. Although he appeared somewhat haggard, his face showed signs of regaining a positive energy.
Han Ji-il debuted as an advertising model in 1970 and was active as a handsome actor in the 1970s and 80s. Later, in the 1990s, he transitioned to film production, achieving success with works such as 'The Cow Wife is Cheating.' However, he reportedly lost a fortune of over 10 billion won due to a series of misfortunes, including his divorce and business failures.
Currently, he has been appointed as the volunteer chairman of the Korean Film Actors Association, continuing his 55 years of volunteer work.
