The Baekseok factory operated by Baek Jong-won's The Born Korea was closed last month after being reported for violating the Agricultural Land Act.
On the 10th, The Born Korea stated, "To ensure safe product production and quality control, the production functions of the Baekseok factory have been transferred to our budget factory and cooperating manufacturers, and operations at the Baekseok factory were concluded at the end of June."
It added that employees who worked at the Baekseok factory have been reassigned to the budget factory.
Furthermore, The Born Korea emphasized that it is diligently cooperating with the Chungnam Police Agency's investigation related to the Agricultural Land Act and is making efforts to discuss relevant laws with local governments and comply with food-related regulations.
The Baekseok factory is located in an agricultural promotion zone, and concerns were raised in March regarding the use of imported raw materials in the soybean paste products produced there, which constituted a violation of the Agricultural Land Act.
At that time, The Born Korea stated, "We sincerely apologize for using imported raw materials without properly understanding the regulations."
According to the Agricultural Land Act, facilities in agricultural promotion zones must produce food using domestically produced agricultural and fishery products as raw materials. The Born Korea decided to suspend operations at the Baekseok factory due to the low supply rate of key ingredients such as soybeans and flour, making it difficult to secure domestic supplies.
