SHINee's Minho showcased his unyielding passion for exercise.
In the episode of MBC's ‘I Live Alone’ aired on the 11th, Minho's fiery training scene was depicted as he has been living alone for 5 years.
On that day, Minho caught attention by going out about 20 minutes after waking up. As Code Kunst predicted, Minho headed to a sports center equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and swimming amenities.
Minho stated, "I started training for a triathlon three months ago. I have to swim 1.5km, cycle 40km, and run 10km." He continued, "After two months of training, I achieved decent results in my first competition. I plan to participate in another competition in November. My goal is to get on the podium then. So, I am training hard right now," surprising everyone.
Minho attracted attention as he trained in swimming and cycling under the guidance of a coach who is a former triathlete. Key remarked, "If he had messed up the choreography or lyrics while preparing for SHINee activities, I would have stopped him from exercising. But since he does it all, I told him, 'Live your life.'"
After completing about 6 hours and 30 minutes of training, Minho returned home. He cooked ramen, took a short nap, and then went out again. The place he arrived at was a gym.
When asked, "Isn't it hard?" Minho replied, "I wanted to do exercises to improve my cardiovascular endurance, so I started this after my military service. It's High Rocks. (I participated in a competition) and my record was 1 hour, 4 minutes, and 50 seconds, ranking me in the top tier. I'm preparing passionately for the next competition," his eyes sparkling.
In response, Jeon Hyun-moo sighed and said, "Just watching is exhausting. How many competitions are you participating in? It seems like you're competing 300 days out of 365." Code Kunst added, "'Squid Game' is all you need to participate in. I once talked about this with Minho's brother. (Minho) is lucky to be crazily good," which brought laughter.
Minho expressed, "I generally like challenges, and I hope that by showing this side of me, I can motivate others. If I can convey positive energy and inspire those who had no interest to think, 'Should I give it a try too?' then I consider that a success."
Additionally, Minho said, "Living alone has helped me get to know myself a step further. Being busy and getting pushed around made me feel anxious on my days off. But when I exercise and return home, I feel like I've accomplished something today." He continued, "Today, I ran three rounds, but sometimes I even run four. My ultimate goal is Ironman." To this, Key exclaimed, "Have you lost your mind? Why are you doing this?" causing everyone to burst into laughter.
