On this day, Jang Do-yeon asked Nana, “As a rookie, you had no choice but to follow the company’s wishes, right?” Nana replied, “That’s why I did Orange Caramel.”
Nana revealed, “I ran away during my time with Orange Caramel. It wasn’t my taste at all. It was completely different from my style and didn’t match my personality at all. I didn’t even like the name from the start. I couldn’t understand what kind of combination orange and caramel was, and I had a lot of complaints.”
However, Nana said her thoughts changed as Orange Caramel received a good response. She stated, “I think my thoughts changed when I saw people enjoying it while following us. Eventually, I started to enjoy it.”
She continued, “The peak of my enjoyment was during the ‘Catallena’ activities. I was so excited that I practiced a lot. The director of ‘Inkigayo’ who saw the practice video said, ‘Just do it like that.’ So I did it as it was,” which brought laughter.
Meanwhile, Nana revealed that she is preparing a solo album, drawing attention. She said, “A solo album was one of my goals. It kept getting postponed for various reasons, and I couldn’t release it. In the meantime, all activities with After School and Orange Caramel ended, which was disappointing. But a new company made the first proposal.”
She added, “I also worked on writing songs and the music video concepts and storyboards. It seems that a song in my style will come out. I’m thinking of trying a concept I haven’t attempted before. I believe fans have been waiting a lot, so I wanted to reveal it on ‘Salon Drip 2’,” raising expectations.
