Virtual YouTuber Uwawagud, who has 1.7 million subscribers, announced that he will stop his YouTube activities after apologizing for the copyright controversy and inappropriate remarks.

On the 6th, Uwawagud posted on his YouTube channel, "First of all, I sincerely apologize to those who have been hurt and disappointed by my words and actions."

He added, "During a long time of broadcasting, there were words and actions that crossed the line in the environment of internet broadcasting, which caused discomfort and disappointment to many people. I have come to realize that my words and actions can hurt someone due to a series of recent events, and I feel very ashamed and regretful about it."

Uwawagud stated, "I sincerely apologize for the discomfort caused by my shortcomings and carelessness. I will do my best to be more careful with my words and actions in the future so that such incidents do not happen again."

He continued, "I regret to say that even if I write an apology multiple times, it only prolongs the excuses, and I have come to realize that my mistakes do not disappear. Therefore, I would like to announce that I will be suspending my YouTube activities for the time being."

Uwawagud is a virtual YouTuber who communicates with viewers through a virtual avatar. Recently, he planned a six-member virtual girl group 'Isekai Idol' and has been involved in album releases and performances.

In the meantime, issues have arisen in the content ecosystem 'Wakaverse' operated by Uwawagud. Recently, a fan game called 'WakDJMax', based on the popular rhythm game 'DJMAX RESPECT V' by Neowiz, was serviced through Wakaverse. This game included cover versions of songs such as Aespa's 'Drama', ITZY's 'WANNABE', and (G)I-DLE's 'TOMBOY' performed by Isekai Idol. However, there was no consultation with the original game company Neowiz or the original song creators, leading to copyright controversies. Similar issues have sporadically emerged in several fan games within 'Wakaverse'. Additionally, past rude remarks made by Uwawagud during broadcasts have also been reexamined.
