Actress Go So-young offered her condolences to the families of the victims of the Jeju Air disaster.
In the episode of MBN’s ‘Oh Eun-young Stay’ aired on the 7th, Go So-young was seen comforting the families of the Jeju Air disaster victims.
On that day, a participant recalled, “The day of the accident was December 29. I was working when an article was posted in a group chat. As I was reading the article, I realized my dad had gone on a trip. At that moment, I got chills all over my body. I called my dad, but he didn’t answer. While I was anxiously waiting, I saw my dad’s name on the list of passengers in the article.”
He continued, “At first, there was news that two people had been rescued. I hoped one of them was my dad. But the number of casualties kept increasing. When I saw that all passengers had died, I prayed that at least the suffering was short.”
He also mentioned, “I once read a memorial letter during a memorial service. But after reading the letter, I saw a comment saying, ‘Would a sad person act like that? That’s just a show.’ Seeing such comments made me feel terrible. After that, the bereaved families started a petition for the truth to be revealed. I saw comments like, ‘Why are you doing this now?’ We were just so sad that we couldn’t do anything, and when we tried to do something, we encountered a lot of negativity.”
Hearing this, Go So-young said, “Honestly, just hearing the words mom and dad brings a lump to my throat. But how can I dare to comfort someone who has experienced such an unexpected accident? I can’t even imagine that.”
She continued, “I think it’s necessary to grieve enough and recall the good memories rather than trying to recover emotionally quickly.”
Meanwhile, ‘Oh Eun-young Stay’ airs every Monday at 9:10 PM.
