Broadcaster Ahn Sun-young directly clarified the rumors about her immigration to Canada.
On the 7th, she stated on her social media, "I am not immigrating. I am just temporarily relocating to Canada as a guardian for my child's studies."
She expressed her frustration, saying, "I will be ending my 26-year live broadcasting career, but I plan to come to Seoul every month," adding, "All the elders in the family are surprised and calling, it's a big deal."
Previously, Ahn Sun-young announced on her YouTube channel, "I have decided to boldly end my entire career and move to Canada."
She made this decision for her son, stating, "He is not just someone who likes sports; he works hard at it as if it's his life," and added, "He has talent. In our country, it's Taekwondo, and in Canada, it's ice hockey. He recently took an entrance test for a team that is hard for local children to get into, and he was selected out of 13 candidates."
She continued, "(My son) showed strong determination, saying, 'If you can't go with me, I can at least stay in a boarding house,' which made me decide to quit my job."
Additionally, she mentioned, "I also plan to take on new challenges as a new YouTuber," and added, "It's not that I will completely stop working."
Ahn Sun-young debuted as a comedian in MBC's 11th open recruitment in 2000 and has also worked as a show host. She married a businessman in 2013 and welcomed her son in 2016.
