As the news of the late Jaehyun (real name Shim Jaehyun) from the group Fable passing away from leukemia has been reported, Hojoon, who worked with him in the team, reflected on him and paid tribute.
In a phone call with Maeil Business Star Today on the 2nd, Hojoon said, "Jaehyun was a cheerful friend," adding, "He was a member who always practiced hard because he had a strong desire to succeed as an idol."
He also talked about Jaehyun's battle with the illness. Hojoon mentioned that he heard Jaehyun was suffering from leukemia after the end of Fable's activities, saying, "I heard later that he passed away after going through cycles of improvement and deterioration."
Hojoon expressed regret for not being able to take care of Jaehyun due to the difficulty of maintaining contact among members after disbandment, saying, "I feel very sorry that we couldn't achieve our dreams of success together," and added, "I hope Jaehyun is resting comfortably in heaven without pain."
Since the news of Jaehyun's passing, tributes from global fans have continued online. Hojoon commented, "It seems that the fans are comforting Jaehyun's unfulfilled dreams. Thank you for not letting him go alone."
Born in 2002, Jaehyun debuted in the music industry with Fable in June 2020, releasing three single albums and actively participating in concerts and fan meetings in Japan.
After the team's activities, Jaehyun fell ill with leukemia and passed away on the 29th of last month at the age of 23.
The funeral was held this morning (2nd), and the burial site is located at Muryangsu Memorial Park in Suwon, Namyangju.
