Koyote's Shinji's fiancé Moon Won has confessed to being divorced.
On the 2nd, a video titled "Who is going to take our Shinji?" was posted on Shinji's YouTube channel 'How Are You?'. The video features the Shinji-Moon Won couple having a meal with Koyote's Kim Jong-min and Baekga as a form of introduction.
Moon Won expressed his surprise at the news of their marriage being revealed first, saying, "I realized a lot this time. I found out again that this person is very famous. I was so surprised," adding, "It suddenly blew up." To this, Shinji joked, "He called me while stuttering."
Shinji stated, "This is a proper introduction to the members," and continued, "I want to talk seriously. I have to. It's something you must know."
Moon Won then shared, "This might be a surprising story. Many people now know me as Shinji's boyfriend and fiancé. I didn't know Ji-sun (Shinji's real name) was famous. I just saw her as a woman. So I thought I should treat her well and that I shouldn't make mistakes."
He added, "I was married once. And I have a lovely daughter," revealing, "My ex-wife is raising her, but we communicate and try to take care of everything for the child's sake."
Baekga exclaimed, "You have a daughter?" in surprise, while Kim Jong-min cautiously remarked, "I think it's important to take responsibility."
Moon Won mentioned that he knew about Shinji's past, saying, "I knew that and we met. At first, I didn't know, but as we got closer, I thought I should be honest. I needed time to prepare. During that time, I thought a lot and she told me, 'I like you, I love you, so I can embrace you,' which really helped me."
Shinji reflected, "How much did I suffer alone knowing that? I thought it must have been hard. I thought it would be disappointing if my brother or Baekga found out through a third party. Anyway, many people don't know much about Moon Won yet, but as he becomes more known, I thought it would be right for us to reveal it ourselves, especially for the fans who support us."
She continued, "I think there might be worried gazes. It was the same when the scandal first broke," adding, "I actually liked his sense of responsibility. He wasn't someone who would ignore it; he was trying to protect his child and care for her responsibly, which I found appealing. I thought he could show me that side too."
Moon Won requested, "I will work hard for Ji-sun and I hope you will watch over us. It might be an awkward request to the hyungs, but it could cause stress, so please give me a pat on the back when we meet."
Baekga supported, "If you two are happy, I don't think it's something I need to worry about. I actually think this kind of setting is better." Kim Jong-min also said, "There's nothing else. I just hope you two are happy. What we want is just one thing: don't be conscious of others, just look at each other."
Shinji thanked Kim Jong-min and Baekga, saying, "Thank you for understanding and saying good things." Moon Won reiterated, "I will take better care of her in the future."
Shinji expressed, "I feel relieved. I wanted to tell the members before the announcement. But since the announcement was made, the order got reversed, but it feels good to hear that as long as you guys are happy, that's all that matters."
Shinji is set to marry the 7-year younger singer Moon Won in the first half of next year. According to their agency, the two met when Moon Won appeared as a guest on Shinji's radio show 'Single Bungle Show' and developed into a romantic relationship. Shinji and Moon Won recently completed their wedding photoshoot and released a duet song 'Shallakadoola' on the 26th of last month.
Moon Won debuted in 2012 with 'Live with Me'. He has released songs like 'We Have to Break Up', 'For You', 'Take a Break', and 'Only Looking at You'. In 2013, he appeared on JTBC's variety show 'Hidden Singer' and ranked 4th.
Shinji debuted with Koyote in 1998 and gained much love with hit songs like 'Pure Love', 'Blue', 'Meeting', and 'Disco King'. Shinji will be the second member of Koyote to get married, following Kim Jong-min.
