Singer and actress Hani will share her feelings after postponing her marriage to her partner Yang Jae-woong.
At the end of the MBN entertainment program ‘Oh Eun-young Stay’ that aired on the 30th of last month, a preview for the third episode was broadcast.
The video showed Hani visiting the Ssanggyesa Temple in Hadong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, to meet Dr. Oh Eun-young. Dressed in light training clothes and sneakers, Hani opened the gate with a hiking bag on her back. Unlike her usual glamorous stage styling, she appeared with a natural face without makeup, drawing attention.
Even in the taxi, Hani maintained a serious expression and expressed her confusion during an interview with the production team, saying, “This wasn’t it? I’ve been running believing in this, so how should I live now?”
Hani was supposed to marry psychiatrist Yang Jae-woong in September last year. The two had been in a public relationship since 2022. However, just before their wedding, an incident occurred in May last year at the hospital where Yang Jae-woong is the director, resulting in a patient’s death, which led to the decision to postpone the marriage.
The bereaved family filed a criminal complaint against the medical staff for neglecting to provide appropriate emergency treatment to a patient who complained of abdominal pain, accusing them of negligent homicide and professional negligence. Yang Jae-woong was also implicated.
In October last year, the police requested an evaluation from the Korean Medical Association regarding medical malpractice and the cause of death, but the investigation was halted in January this year due to delays in the association's response. The bereaved family then raised an objection in February, leading to the resumption of the police investigation.
Meanwhile, the Human Rights Commission reported in March that there were acts of falsifying or aiding in the falsification of medical records, and referred five individuals, including Yang Jae-woong, to the Supreme Prosecutors' Office for investigation. At that time, Yang Jae-woong's side stated, “The appropriateness of the isolation and coercive measures against the patient and the legality of the procedures are currently under police investigation, and it is difficult to conclude that the Human Rights Commission's investigation and decision, which lacks compulsory investigative authority, confirmed that it was inappropriate and procedurally problematic,” indicating their intention to proceed with an appeal.
As the controversy surrounding Yang Jae-woong continues, Hani has quietly spent her time, including voluntarily stepping down from programs she was scheduled to appear on.
While she has attended EXID events, she has not revealed her inner thoughts, raising curiosity about what stories she will share on ‘Oh Eun-young Stay’ and what solutions Dr. Oh Eun-young will provide.
‘Oh Eun-young Stay’ airs every Monday at 9:10 PM.
