Singer Lee Ji-hoon (45)'s Japanese wife Miura Ayane (31) fought back against some criticisms that the dress she chose for her daughter’s first birthday party was too extravagant, saying, "That's an old story."
On the 24th, Ayane shared a screenshot of an article about herself on social media, stating, "I didn't have the desire to be the main character," and added, "Since I worked hard as a mom, I should dress beautifully to welcome guests, and it's an old story that moms should dress modestly."
The day before, she had posted on social media asking for help in choosing a dress for her daughter Ruhee's first birthday party. She explained, "Since it's a large-scale first birthday party, if the dress is too simple, it won't match the atmosphere of the venue, so I need to wear a dress that is dressy enough."

However, the reactions from netizens were not positive. Comments on Ayane's post included, "What dress for a first birthday party?" "The baby is the main character, but the mom is too extravagant," "It seems cumbersome to hold the baby. The sparkles will all come off on the baby," "Mom is the main character," "Are you going to an awards ceremony?" "The outfit doesn't consider the baby at all," and more.
In response, Ayane said, "I tried to choose a dress that was bright but not too much like the main character, but when I tried it on, I was drawn to the pretty dress," and added, "Since it's Ruhee's first birthday, I want to be the second main character. I've worked hard for two years since I was pregnant, so what's wrong with standing out a bit?"
To comments suggesting she wear a hanbok instead of a dress, she replied, "I'm not Korean," and said, "My relatives from Japan are coming that day, so do I have to wear a hanbok? To respect both cultures, I would have to wear both a kimono and a hanbok, but that's not feasible, so I chose a dress."
Regarding criticisms that her outfit showed a lack of consideration for the child, she stated, "The baby won't be looking for me, so the material or discomfort isn't important. The care for the child will be handled by family and my husband," and firmly rebutted, "The first birthday party is not just for the child, but the family is also the main character."
Ayane, who was active in the girl group Twitty in 2017, married Lee Ji-hoon, who is 14 years her senior, in 2021. After three years of successful IVF treatment, they welcomed their daughter last July.
