Actor Kim Soo-hyun has filed a complaint against the family of the late Kim Sae-ron for false accusations, responding to their claims.
On the 23rd, attorney Bang Seong-hoon from the law firm LK Partners, representing Kim Soo-hyun, announced in an official statement that they have submitted a complaint against the deceased's family and Kim's representative for false accusations.
Attorney Bang pointed out, "The family has gone beyond spreading false information based on forged audio files and has accused Kim Soo-hyun of violating the Child Welfare Act. This is a clear act of false accusation."
"Fabricating evidence is a serious crime, but filing a criminal complaint based on forged evidence is an even more serious crime," Bang emphasized, stating, "We will do our utmost to ensure that they are punished according to the law and principles."
Previously, last month, the legal representative of the family, attorney Bu Ji-seok, and Kim's representative held a press conference and announced that they had filed a complaint against Kim Soo-hyun for violating the Child Welfare Act and for false accusations.
At that time, the family explained, "We proceeded with the complaint for violating the Child Welfare Act after confirming that Kim Soo-hyun had engaged in lewd acts or sexual abuse against the late Kim Sae-ron, who was a minor in the winter vacation of her second year of middle school."
Currently, the family of Kim Sae-ron has been claiming through Gaseyeon since March that "Kim Sae-ron was in a romantic relationship with Kim Soo-hyun for six years starting from 2016 when she was 15 years old," demanding that Kim Soo-hyun's side acknowledge the fact of their relationship during her minor years.
In response, Kim Soo-hyun's side denied the claim, stating that the evidence presented by the family is fabricated. They suggested that the audio recordings disclosed at the press conference were created using AI technology and indicated legal action.
The disclosed audio included statements such as, "I felt like I was being used since middle school. The first time (I had sexual relations) was around the winter vacation of my second year of middle school."
Kim Soo-hyun's side has filed a criminal complaint and a lawsuit for damages amounting to 12 billion won against the family and Gaseyeon. Additionally, they have filed an extra complaint against Kim's representative for violating the Stalking Punishment Act.
