Tao (Huang Zitao), a former member of the group EXO, has addressed the controversy regarding foreign substances detected in his launched sanitary pad brand 'Domyway'.

On the 17th, Tao stated through his official SNS, "I would like to explain the issue of the 'black dots' foreign substance raised by consumers. This mainly occurs during the production process of non-woven fabric, where some fiber components carbonize at high temperatures, resulting in small and fine black dots."

He added, "These dots are generally produced when textile materials combust at high temperatures, and inspection results showed that no harmful substances to the human body were detected at all."

Previously, a consumer who purchased 'Domyway' posted on SNS that black dots were found in the sanitary pads. As the post quickly spread through Chinese online communities, Tao took the initiative to clarify the situation.

Tao emphasized, "'Domyway' values consumer feedback very highly, and we will respond seriously to even the smallest issues."

Earlier, Tao expressed outrage over the fact that several sanitary pad factories in China were repackaging used sanitary pads and selling them at high prices, declaring that he would make sanitary pads himself and launched the product.

In a live broadcast held last month, Tao's sanitary pads generated $3 million (approximately 4.1 billion KRW) in sales within 30 minutes, and the cumulative sales have now surpassed 100 million units.

Tao, a former member of EXO, left the group in 2015 and has been active in China. With 66 million followers on the Chinese SNS Weibo, he made headlines last year by marrying Xu Yiyang, a former SM Entertainment trainee.
