Actress Kim Hye-eun has once again apologized for targeting author Yoo Si-min's remarks ahead of the recent presidential election.

On the afternoon of the 12th, Kim Hye-eun attended a press conference for the movie 'City of Evil' held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul.

On that day, Kim Hye-eun cautiously stated regarding the recent controversy, "I have always had a great interest in women and the weak. The impact was greater than I expected, but as someone who works as an actress, I feel sorry."

She continued, "Ultimately, the president elected by the people has been chosen. Our country needs to do well," adding, "The film industry is also struggling, and as K-content gains prominence, the production environment has become difficult, leading to a near takeover of dramas and films. I sincerely hope that our country can establish itself as a cultural powerhouse in the cultural sector."

Previously, Yoo Si-min, an economics graduate from Seoul National University, sparked controversy on the 28th of last month during a YouTube channel 'Kim Eo-jun's Das Boida' by stating, "The position of being the spouse of a presidential candidate from a major party (Kim Moon-soo) is a position that is almost unattainable in Seolnan-young's life." Following the controversy, Yoo apologized, saying, "It was my fault that the expression was rough."

In response, Kim Hye-eun, a graduate of Seoul National University's vocal music department, criticized Yoo's remarks on her SNS on the 31st of last month, saying, "I don't think I've ever been ashamed of my education from Seoul National University like yesterday or today. I want to convey my apologies on behalf of those who feel offended. I am not a rotten intellectual living with arrogance and class consciousness that belittles high school graduates just because I graduated from Seoul National University."

As the fallout grew, Kim Hye-eun deleted the post and stated, "I sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable or distressed due to the post I wrote. As someone who has been speaking for a long time, I have learned once again the weight of words through this incident," and added, "In the future, I will think more deeply about the impact of my thoughts and expressions as an actress on society and will approach my role as a public figure with caution and responsibility."

Kim Hye-eun joined Cheongju MBC as an announcer in 1997. After working as a freelance weathercaster for MBC, she left in 2004 and transitioned to acting, appearing in numerous works. Kim Hye-eun plays a short but intense villain role as Grace in 'City of Evil.'

'City of Evil' is a sociopathic thriller that delves into the depths of human nature through the entangled relationships of Yoo-jung (Han Chae-young), who believes in goodwill, Kang-soo (Jang Yi-soo), who rejects faith, and Sun-hee (Hyun Woo-sung), who uses people, in a catastrophic relationship that can only end in killing or being killed. The film is set to be released on the 20th.
