Actor Park Jin-young has taken over both the screen and the home theater.

Through the tvN weekend drama 'Unknown Seoul' (written by Lee Kang, directed by Park Shin-woo) and the movie 'High Five' (directed by Kang Hyung-cheol), Park Jin-young has received praise for convincingly portraying two completely contrasting characters.

In 'Unknown Seoul', which recorded a viewership rating of 5.9% and is on the rise, Park Jin-young plays the role of lawyer Lee Ho-soo, who has a complex inner self behind a calm and rational exterior.

He instinctively senses that the future (played by Park Bo-young) is actually the past Yu-mi-ji, capturing the emotional flow between confusion and obsession intricately. He realistically expressed the psychology of a character engulfed in lethargy and anxiety after resignation, using a restrained gaze, subtle changes in expression, and even breath. His performance vividly depicted the character's fractures without overtly displaying emotions, enhancing the immersion of the drama.

In the box office hit 'High Five', he showcased a strong transformation as a cold and crazed villain.

Park Jin-young played the role of the rejuvenated cult leader Young-chun alongside Shin Gu in a dual role. He densely portrayed a character who gains superpowers after a pancreas transplant and steals the abilities of other transplant recipients for immortality. Despite it being his first challenge as a villain, he convincingly unraveled the character's desires and madness with a restrained tone and sharp gaze, solidifying the narrative's reality.

From his first appearance, Park Jin-young dominated the atmosphere of the work, raising the tension. In confrontation scenes with the five protagonists who possess superpowers, he exuded a threatening aura while being humorous, acting as the worst villain.

In this work, Park Jin-young also showcased action sequences. His actions in the climax of the latter half went beyond simple movements, explosively portraying the character's obsession and desires through action. Moreover, meeting the great actor Shin Gu in a dual role, Park Jin-young acted without any sense of dissonance in both appearance and emotional flow.

In this way, Park Jin-young is expanding his spectrum as an actor by embodying contrasting characters, from a realistic idealist to a cold villain, adding to the anticipation for his next steps.

'Unknown Seoul', featuring Park Jin-young, airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 PM on tvN. The movie 'High Five' is currently showing in theaters with great acclaim.
