Kim Young-sam, a dentist who is a former comedian, has shared the news of his father's passing.
On the 4th, Kim Young-sam posted on his SNS, “Three days ago, my father passed away, and I rushed back from the U.S. to complete the funeral before returning to the U.S.”
He added, “In accordance with my personal principle of handling private matters quietly, I did not announce the obituary and politely declined flowers and condolences from those around me.”
Kim Young-sam continued, “My father was born as the youngest son in a family of daughters and had a relatively affluent childhood (even wearing a Swiss luxury watch that I didn’t have when I was in middle school) and lived a happy life, loved by many people around him.”
After completing the funeral, Kim Young-sam said, “Many people say it’s good to pray for his soul. Please pray for him a lot,” and expressed his condolences, saying, “Thank you for giving me life, father. I hope you meet grandma and grandpa in heaven and have a joyful time.”
Kim Young-sam debuted as a comedian in 2001 as part of KBS's 16th public recruitment but stopped his activities in 2004. He is currently the director of a dental clinic in Gangnam, Seoul.
