A person identified as A, who appeared on ENA·SBS Plus’s ‘I Am Solo’ Season 10 under the pseudonym Jeongsook, is under investigation for selling counterfeit luxury goods. A has denied the allegations, but the original reporting broadcaster has corrected this information.
Recently, JTBC’s ‘Incident Commander’ stated, “Many people have inquired and we would like to clarify that, contrary to A’s (Jeongsook from Season 10) statements, the police investigation is still ongoing. We hope there are no misunderstandings.”
In an episode of ‘Incident Commander’ aired on the 28th of last month, a tipster revealed that A, a participant in ‘I Am Solo’, won a luxury brand necklace at a birthday party and charity event at the end of February for 2.2 million won, but “the appraisal result showed it was a counterfeit.” Another bidder is also reported to have won a counterfeit bracelet. They have filed a fraud complaint against A.
The appraiser stated that while the necklace was made of 18K gold, it was not a genuine brand item but rather a piece of ordinary jewelry. The appraised value was about 1 million won. The appraised value of the bracelet was about 700,000 won. Both items were traded at approximately twice their market value.
According to the broadcast, when the tipster requested the product case and warranty, A responded, “I bought the necklace from a gold shop and don’t have the case, but I do have the warranty,” adding, “You can’t buy a genuine item for that price. I will refund you if you return the item. I never said it was real at the charity event. What’s the problem if you just send the money?”
A rebutted to ‘Incident Commander’, saying, “There’s no need to discuss my position. Please let me know who the tipster is. I will pass it on to my lawyer.”
After the broadcast, A was revealed to be Jeongsook from ‘I Am Solo’ Season 10, which intensified the controversy. In relation to this, Jeongsook expressed her grievances through comments on social media on the 29th of last month, stating, “I did not live by cheating. This is a story that ended without charges.”
Jeongsook previously appeared in a special episode of ‘I Am Solo’ for divorced singles, introducing herself as having assets worth 5 billion won, including five apartments and a building. In April, she appeared on the YouTube channel ‘Mibji Anheun Gwanjong Unni’ and stated that her invested funds had grown to 20 billion won.
