A photoshoot featuring Red Velvet's Irene has been revealed.
The June issue of the magazine 'Cosmopolitan' has unveiled a photoshoot with Red Velvet's Irene. This photoshoot was conducted ahead of the release of Irene & Seulgi's second mini album 'TILT', which is their comeback after about five years.
With the concept of 'A Summer Afternoon with Irene', Irene showcased her unique fresh and bright charm. From a white knit dress to a lovely denim set-up, she effortlessly pulled off various items, earning praise from the staff on set.
After the photoshoot, an interview took place. Irene shared, “These days, I’ve been busy preparing for the Irene & Seulgi album, and this year, I’m feeling the change of seasons more calmly than ever. I think to myself, ‘So this is what April weather is like,’ and ‘Right, I’ve always liked the deep green of this time when new sprouts emerge’.”
This album by Irene & Seulgi features a total of six songs, including the title track 'TILT'. Irene expressed, “Since it’s not a full group activity, I was worried. However, there were more people waiting for us than I expected. Thanks to that, I felt relieved while preparing the album. I drew strength from the support of our fans.”
Irene, who garnered attention with teaser images featuring a chic and mature concept before the comeback, discussed the album, saying, “The concept of the first album was very strong, so I pondered how we could show a different side. Since it’s just the two of us, it seemed like the twin, symmetrical image we’ve shown before would still come through. I think this album can be introduced with the word 'TILT'. It means 'tilted', but rather than giving a feeling of falling over, we want to show how we balance each other.”
She continued, “It’s been 10 years since we started our activities, and both of us have released solo albums, so we’ve coexisted in our own time and together. Because of that, I thought it would be nice to do something more independently and have the energy we emit captured in the album. It will be a more meaningful result than just expressing a cool concept.”
Along with the activities for the mini album, the first Irene & Seulgi concert has also been confirmed. They will hold their first solo concert '2025 Irene & Seulgi Concert Tour - Balance in Asia' at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Seoul, on June 14-15.
Irene stated, “Before the comeback was confirmed, I thought that if the next Seulgi album came out, we definitely had to have a concert. It will be a different stage from the concerts we do as Red Velvet, and I want to create something unique to Seulgi. I want to bring everything we have to the table and make it as good as possible. I hope you all like it.”
She added, “I hope Irene & Seulgi will be remembered as an irreplaceable unit and a team that makes irreplaceable music. I think it’s really wonderful that we have something unique to us.”
