Actress Kim Nam-joo has revealed the garden of her house in Samseong-dong.
On the 26th, Kim Nam-joo's YouTube channel posted a video titled ‘Kim Nam-joo's Secret Garden in Samseong-dong’.
In the video, Kim Nam-joo introduced her garden, which features double cherry blossoms, lilacs, azaleas, hydrangeas, magnolias, plum trees, persimmon trees, and pine trees.
Kim Nam-joo shared, “After getting married and having kids, my affection for this house has deepened. I have no plans to renovate or move. The kids sometimes ask, ‘Should we move to a villa?’ but I don’t think there’s a place as comfortable and familiar as this one.”
She introduced a fountain she purchased in France, saying, “This fountain is over 100 years old, and I bought it because it came from France, but it has a crack. I repaired it, but it cracked again. It’s okay, so I just use it. Isn’t it beautiful? From spring, the sound of water makes a difference when guests come. I used to love Moroccan style when I was passionate. Now Moroccan tiles are not expensive, but back then they weren’t available. I bought something similar at a high price, and then later, they came out cheap. It became a trend.”
Kim Nam-joo also talked about living in a house, saying, “Honestly, it’s not easy. I can do it because I like it. Our house lives with mice and cockroaches. That’s just how it is with houses,” revealing her realistic struggles.
She continued, “One day, my husband dropped a piece of hamburger while eating, and a baby mouse came to eat that piece. Since then, I never spill food.”
Kim Nam-joo stated, “This house means a lot to me. There are uncomfortable parts because it’s old, but I’m satisfied because I can enjoy the garden. On days when I don’t have work, I don’t go outside and spend time in the garden.” She added, “My pride is in the old things. The house is like that, and most of the staff I work with have been with me for over 20 years. My manager is approaching 30 years. I’m happy to be able to work together for a long time.”
Kim Nam-joo married Kim Seung-woo in 2005 and has one son and one daughter.
