The production team of the play 'The Tonight Show' has put the casting of actor Jeon Ho-jun, who is under suspicion of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, on hold.
On the 24th, the theater company Baekui stated on SNS, "We sincerely apologize for the concerns caused by the recent controversies surrounding one of our performers," referring to the allegations against Jeon Ho-jun. They continued, "We are currently in the process of accurately verifying the facts, and we have decided to temporarily suspend the casting of the performer until the truth of the matter is clearly established."
They added, "We take this matter very seriously and promise to provide transparent updates as additional facts are confirmed."
On the 24th, an individual identified as A, who claimed to be Jeon Ho-jun's partner, stated on SNS, "I supported everything from coffee trucks to performances. I paid for all the dating expenses, and I was defrauded of about 10 million won under the pretense of marriage, including a mobile phone, luxury scarf, and necklace," and claimed, "I paid 5 million won alone for a Thailand trip, including airfare and 10 days of accommodation, and I was infected with a sexually transmitted disease, and I also gave 1 million won in cash every month for Pilates."
A also claimed that they were assaulted when they visited Jeon Ho-jun's house early that morning, saying, "When I lost contact with (Jeon Ho-jun) and went to his house at 2 AM, as soon as the door opened, (he) choked me and slammed my hair to the floor." They continued, "While resisting, I hit Jeon Ho-jun's head, causing it to bleed. Then, in a fit of rage, I called the police, and because (Jeon Ho-jun) was bleeding, it became a case of mutual assault."
On the 25th, Jeon Ho-jun stated on SNS, "The assault situation claimed by A occurred during the process of stopping A from unlawfully attempting to enter my home in the early morning," and explained, "At first, I tried to calm the situation, but as physical conflict became unavoidable, it led to a scuffle, and I also sustained injuries with bleeding on my face and head."
He added, "I am aware of the difference in physical conditions between (A and me). However, the situation was an unavoidable physical conflict that occurred while stopping someone who unlawfully entered my home in the early morning, and it was a response that falls under self-defense."
