Top star Yoo Ji-tae shared tips for a happy married life with his close friend, 'fiancé' Kim Jun-ho.
In the SBS program 'My Ugly Duckling' aired on the 25th, comedian Kim Jun-ho, who is set to marry on July 13, was seen delivering wedding invitations to acquaintances, and his meeting with Yoo Ji-tae was broadcasted.
On this day, Kim Jun-ho first met Yoo Ji-tae, his friend of 30 years, to hand over the invitation. Yoo Ji-tae, who has been married to fellow actor Kim Hyo-jin for 15 years, smiled and said, “My married life is still happy.”
He surprised everyone by saying, “If you count from the day I started dating my wife, it has been 6,733 days.” While reminiscing about his proposal, Yoo Ji-tae even sang 'Thank You' on the spot.
As a father of two, he advised, “Since we have kids, we must never fight. The kids think their dad is Superman,” adding, “During the kids' sports day, dads go crazy. They think they can never lose. Women feel the same way. To a wife, her husband is a wonderful person. You must not break that illusion.” He continued, “You have to keep thinking of ways to maintain that. Pretend to be cool.”
He also said, “I feel like kids change your life. You can feel true happiness from them. Your way of thinking changes. You have to completely change your lifestyle,” speaking sincerely, and Kim Jun-ho took it seriously, saying, “I need to hurry up with my (family planning).”
Yoo Ji-tae reiterated, “To have a happy married life, you must constantly make an effort,” and added, “I was worried that you would spend a lot of money, but it seems you are doing well in marriage. It’s great that your fiancée Kim Ji-min has financial control.”
He shared, “I manage our finances. I handle living expenses, school fees, etc. My wife’s earnings are managed by Hyo-jin. I need to find a house between my in-laws and my family for my wife, and I always have to take care of both sides equally. That’s the rule. I have to give the same gifts for cars and phones, so I look for cheaper options.”
Kim Jun-ho responded, “So that’s how Yoo Ji-tae lives?” showing a bitter expression, which made everyone laugh.
