On the 20th, Gu Jun-yeop's mother-in-law, Hwang Chun-mae, wrote on her account, "My son-in-law is making a statue in time for my daughter's first anniversary. The place where the statue will be erected is beautiful, and the drawings made by Gu Jun-yeop are truly beautiful one by one."
She continued, "The reason Gu Jun-yeop is tanned black is that he has always been by my daughter's side. He is truly a loyal person. If you meet someone like this in life, you couldn't ask for more. This is true love."

Gu Jun-yeop reunited with his former lover Seo Hee-won, whom he had dated over 20 years ago, and registered their marriage in February 2022. However, just over three years after their marriage, she passed away from acute pneumonia caused by the flu during a family trip to Japan last February.
