Singer Baek Ji-young (49) expressed regret over her past unplanned spending habits.
On the 17th, Baek Ji-young's official channel released a video titled "Baek Ji-young asking 17-year-old idol members about financial management methods."
In the video, Baek Ji-young invited P1Harmony's Theo and Intak to discuss financial management.
In response to Baek Ji-young's question about financial management, Theo said, "I started buying stocks when I was 20. I watch economic news every day and just buy," indicating that he is diversifying his investments.
On the other hand, Intak stated, "I want to try, but this isn't my path. Just putting money in doesn't guarantee profit," and added, "When I receive my earnings, I save it in the bank. I'm just now asking my seniors about significant investments."
Baek Ji-young was surprised by their responses, saying, "That's really impressive. I asked without any expectations, but I didn't know they were both managing their finances."
She continued, "You really need to pay attention to these things. I truly couldn't. I'm a prime example of failing in financial management compared to the money I earned."
She lamented, "I let all my money go down the toilet. So whenever I meet juniors, I advise them, 'Don't spend money on alcohol.' It's like flushing my money down the toilet."
Additionally, she remarked, "It's surprising that young people these days think about managing their finances when they receive their earnings," and reflected, "In the past, where was that? I thought I could earn money forever and spent recklessly. Back in our day, when we went to events, they would give us cash in a box or shopping bag for the event fees. Having a bundle of ten million won in hand dulled my senses, and I spent lavishly," expressing her regret once again.
